Why Become a Fundraiser?
Flexible Opportunities. Meaningful Work.
We recognise that individuals have different circumstances, commitments and professional ambitions.
Our independent fundraising opportunities are designed to provide flexibility while maintaining the professional standards expected when representing charitable organisations.
Flexible Working Arrangements
Subject to campaign requirements, contractual terms and applicable permissions, independent fundraisers may determine their own working hours and preferred locations.
Performance-Based Earning Opportunities
Eligible fundraising assignments may offer remuneration calculated as an agreed percentage of qualifying donations successfully raised and verified.
The applicable rate, payment arrangements and conditions will be clearly set out in the relevant fundraising agreement.
Develop Valuable Skills
Fundraising provides opportunities to strengthen communication, public engagement, organisation and interpersonal skills.
Support Meaningful Causes
Fundraisers contribute to campaigns supporting charitable organisations working in areas such as healthcare, poverty relief, education, community development and social welfare.
Work Independently
Suitable assignments may be available on a self-employed basis, allowing individuals to undertake fundraising activities in accordance with their agreements and applicable legal requirements.
What Does a Fundraiser Do?
Every Conversation Creates an Opportunity.
As a fundraiser working on an LB Fundraising campaign, your activities may include:
- Approaching and engaging members of the public respectfully
- Raising awareness of charitable programmes and services
- Providing accurate information and responding to donor questions
- Following agreed cash-handling and donation procedures
- Complying with campaign instructions, applicable laws and fundraising standards
- Explaining the mission and objectives of the charity being represented
- Encouraging voluntary cash or electronic donations
- Maintaining records of donations collected
- Representing charitable organisations professionally
Fundraising requires confidence, patience, good communication and the ability to handle rejection respectfully.
Who Are We Looking For?
The Right Attitude Makes the Difference.
We welcome applications from individuals who demonstrate:
Confidence
Subject to campaign requirements, contractual terms and applicable permissions, independent fundraisers may determine their own working hours and preferred locations.
Communication
You can explain information clearly, listen carefully and communicate with respect.
Integrity
Fundraising provides opportunities to strengthen communication, public engagement, organisation and interpersonal skills.
Self-Motivation
You can organise your activities, remain focused and work towards agreed objectives.
Reliability
You take your responsibilities seriously and understand the importance of following fundraising procedures.
Professionalism
You recognise that your behaviour reflects on both LB Fundraising and the charitable organisations you represent.
Previous fundraising, sales, promotional or customer-facing experience may be beneficial but is not necessarily essential.
How Remuneration Works
Transparent Arrangements. Clear Expectations.
LB Fundraising may engage independent fundraisers under performance-based commercial agreements.
Depending on the campaign, remuneration may be calculated as a percentage of qualifying donations collected and properly accounted for.
For example, where an agreement provides for remuneration of 20% of qualifying donations, a fundraiser who generates £1,000 in eligible donations would earn £200, subject to the agreement’s conditions.
The precise remuneration structure, eligibility criteria, payment timetable and any permitted expenses will be explained before an assignment begins.
Independent fundraisers are responsible for understanding their contractual obligations, including any applicable tax and self-employment requirements.
No particular level of earnings is guaranteed.
Our Fundraising Standards
Professional Conduct Is Essential.
Every fundraiser is expected to act responsibly and protect the reputation of the charitable organisations they represent.
Fundraisers must:
- Obtain the appropriate campaign authorisation before undertaking fundraising activities
- Clearly identify the charity and disclose paid fundraising arrangements as legally required
- Never mislead, intimidate or pressure potential donors
- Handle cash and electronic donations in accordance with agreed procedures
- Report concerns, incidents and discrepancies promptly
- Follow applicable laws, location permissions and fundraising rules
- Treat members of the public with courtesy and respect

- Protect donor information and confidential records
Failure to comply with applicable requirements may result in suspension or termination of an assignment.
